FIREPODS® creates Wildfire Protection Plans
for homes, estates, wineries, agricultural, and commercial properties.
It’s not surprising that many homes and large estates are located adjacent to, or within, the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI). What may be surprising is how many wineries, vineyards, farms, and ranches are also located in the same proximity to the WUI. FIREPODS offers multiple products and solutions to address your specific needs, whatever they may be. Every property is unique, and accordingly each of our Wildfire Protection Plans are tailored specifically to your property, structures, and concerns.
Understanding the real threat from wildfires is an important first step. Lessons learned from the Camp Fire and the Glass Fire both demonstrate the myth that "wildfires burn through communities like a wall of flames" is false. “It’s the ember cast, or “firebrands” that are blown in advance of the fire that are the primary cause of structural fires” [1] Understanding this provides an invaluable head start in protecting your property and structures.
Taking the steps to protect your property and structures also proves beneficial in alleviating the stress and frustration that is becoming an everyday occurrence: Not being able to obtain insurance! “We are seeing an increasing trend across California where people at risk of wildfires are being non-renewed by their insurer,” said Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara. “I have heard from many local communities about how not being able to obtain insurance can create a domino effect for the local economy, affecting home sales and property taxes.” [2] By developing a “Hardened” perimeter on your property or around your structures can greatly assist in obtaining insurance coverage where you previously couldn’t. Estates Large & Small
Your home can never be replaced. Creating defensible space with water cannons along with a system to protect structures with fire retardant gel is the heart of our Wildfire Protection Plan. These systems can be proportioned from small portable DIY units set up by the owner or staff, to fully integrated systems that can be controlled remotely. Designed to protect structure, landscaping, and view shed. |
Wineries, Vineyards, Ranches & Farmlands
The one thing we’ve been reminded of all too frequently in the past several years is that Wineries, Vineyards, Ranches and Farmlands all suffered property and structure loss because of wildfires. As experienced with residential losses, histories and traditions within these industries have been lost and cannot be replaced. Nothing can compensate them for lost production that in turn results in a reduced presence within their respective industries. Now is the time for these institutions to begin investing in their own wildfire protection solutions. As this trend begins to grow and gain momentum, we are seeing wineries, ranches and even farms up and down the state begin to build out extensive assets to protect their futures. Through our affiliated partners in Northern California FIREPODS is poised to work with our agricultural partners here on the central coast and Southern California to build out their Wildfire Protection Plan.

FIREPODS Wildfire Protection Plan Process
Our Wildfire Protection Plan Process is streamlined, efficient, and is broken down into three major stages:
|
- System Design: We draft a complete system design that includes all components of your system, associated timelines and milestones associated with the installation project, and a complete breakdown of all anticipated costs associated with the project. Where applicable, we also handle all permitting associated with the installation of your system.
- Installation: We offer a wide variety of systems, ranging from:
- Fully Permanent Systems: Comprised of external water tanks, pumps, water cannons, fire retardant gel injection systems and completely buried water supply piping.
- Semi-Permanent Systems: We can still bury your water supply piping, and mount your pumps and external water tanks, but you deploy the water cannons when the need arises.
- Portable Systems: Usually these systems are possible when a property already has an alternate dedicated water source or storage. Utilizing a smaller pump, and several hundred feet of fire hose, you have the flexibility to deploy your water cannons where you see fit as the needs arise.
